Summary of Position

The role of the Graphic Designer is to support the Rosie Marketing Team and Rosie Sales Team with effectively and efficiently communicating marketing messages to customers and small and medium sized businesses. The Graphic Designer will work directly with the marketing and sales teams in a variety of key marketing processes and initiatives. The Graphic Designer creates layouts and designs of logos, advertising, marketing collateral for existing and potential retailer partners, and other published materials in print and online. Selects and arranges photos, type, illustrations, and color. Collaborates with marketers, sales team members, Rosie managers, and the Product department on concepts. The Graphic Designer may be asked to join retailer calls as an industry expert to advise on service logo creation, offer design recommendations and discuss the effectiveness of existing marketing materials, among other things. Additionally, the graphic designer will assist in creation and documentation of style guides, advises on video and audio marketing components, advises on marketing best practices, and creates end-user support documentation and sales tools.

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of graphic design software and tools, including:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • CorelDRAW
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability to work with programming scripts, including XML and HTML

  • Experience creating designs that communicate business offerings to consumer audiences (products for sale, services offered flyers, product landing pages, etc.)

  • Understanding of the printing process and specifications

  • Familiarity with production and rendering methods, including drawing, offset printing, photography, interactive media

  • Ability to effectively communicate design thinking approach internally to Rosie team and externally to retailer partners

  • Ability to customize designs for common consumer segments (young parents, elderly, etc.)

  • A solid portfolio that demonstrates a strong sense of branding, typography and layout applied to brand marketing and advertising campaigns

  • Comfortable working across channels including print, social, web, and other formats

Educational Requirements

A degree or certificate from an accredited college or university. At a minimum, the Graphic Designer should possess a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design, a four-year program. Two-year associate degree programs are also common, though a four-year degree is preferable.

  • Analyze and interpret data to better understand consumer behavior

  • Execute omni-channel marketing campaigns across print, digital, social media,

    in-store, outdoor, and traditional media

  • Design intriguing, thought provoking designs for digital and print campaigns

    based on market research and consumer behavior

  • Offer professional creative advice to increase business and consumer

    engagement

  • Interview shoppers to learn the customer development/business development

    process by gaining insight into what they like, what they would like to see improved, as well as their needs, and preferences
